For Contractors, specifically those who are working in the IT sector, data management is of utmost importance. They need to have latest tools and software handy to make their tasks easy and to save time.
We researched on the internet to find data management tools that can help Contractors save time. We came across a download website that offers newest versions of the best software called FileHippo, where we found what we believe to be a very useful Windows based freeware called TeraCopy.
It is a utility software that is designed to copy and move files at the maximum possible speed. What TeraCopy does is, it dynamically adjusts buffers to reduce seek times, to speed up the data transfer process. Asynchronous copying allows TeraCopy to up the file data transfer speed between two hard drives.
It also handles error recovery very well. In the event where TeraCopy finds an error during the data transfer process, it will try several times to copy the file and if it fails to do so then, it will simply skip that particular file and complete the data transfer without terminating the entire process. It also maintains and reports failed transfers so that you can recopy / replace the file (if required).
You can also pause and resume your data transfer process if need be, with a single click. TeraCopy provides full Unicode and Windows 8 x64 support.

TeraCopy is a freeware but for non-commercial use, whereas TeraCopy Pro which costs $20 approximately, is a shareware version of the application which comes with additional features such as:
- Copy/move to your favorite folders
- Save reports as HTML and CSV files
- Select files with the same extension/folder
- Remove the selected files from the copy queue
Additional features will be regularly added to the PRO version of TeraCopy.
