Currently working on AI-assisted modernisation of a large legacy .NET platform, directing coding agents while retaining responsibility for architecture, scope, validation and acceptance. Established repeatable agentic-development and review workflows and improved backend unit-test feedback from approximately 6m18s to 30s. Recent contract work includes backend engineering for pharmaceutical warehousing and invoice-processing platforms using C#, ASP.NET Core and associated services; development of a distributed remote-payments platform using .NET, Azure Functions, PostgreSQL, Redis and Azure Service Bus; and leading delivery of an AI-powered document search and conversational platform using .NET, Azure AI Search, Azure Machine Learning, Cosmos DB and Angular. Previously Lead Developer and later Head of Engineering at Downing LLP, responsible for architecture and engineering delivery of production systems within regulated investment management using .NET, Azure and Angular. Earlier founded and built Funding Empire, a cloud-based P2P lending platform subsequently acquired by Paratus AMC and later Downing. Strong hands-on background in C#, .NET / .NET Framework, ASP.NET Core, Azure, REST APIs, SQL Server, PostgreSQL, React, Angular, TypeScript, distributed systems, CI/CD and automated testing, combined with technical leadership, architecture and stakeholder-facing delivery.
