I’m particularly interested in hands-on software development contracts where I can contribute quickly to an existing team and make a tangible contribution to delivery. Ideally, the work would involve modern .NET/C# and Azure technologies, developing or enhancing business-critical applications, APIs and integrations. I enjoy technically challenging projects where there is a genuine need for problem solving, good engineering and pragmatic delivery, rather than simply implementing well-defined tasks. I’m comfortable working within established teams and environments, but also happy taking ownership of areas of work independently. I’m open to a range of sectors, with a particular interest in healthcare, public sector and other business-critical or regulated environments. Remote or predominantly remote contracts are preferred, with flexibility around occasional on-site requirements.

Software developer with 20+ years’ commercial experience delivering business-critical applications, primarily across the Microsoft technology stack. Strong hands-on experience with .NET/C#, ASP.NET (Web Forms, MVC and Core), Blazor, SQL Server/EF Core and Azure, with recent projects focused on cloud-native applications, APIs, Azure Functions and integration. Experienced across the full software development lifecycle, from requirements analysis and solution design through development, testing, deployment and support. Recent work includes development of healthcare applications and APIs for NHS Scotland, using Blazor Server, .NET, EF Core, Azure SQL, Azure Functions and FHIR-based integrations.
