I am looking for contract or consultancy engagements where I can help organisations strengthen cloud and platform engineering capability. Typical work includes stabilising or maturing AWS platforms, improving infrastructure as code and Kubernetes delivery, raising DevOps/SRE standards, improving security, resilience and cost visibility, and helping teams move from inconsistent project-by-project infrastructure towards clearer operating patterns. I am a good fit where a client needs senior technical leadership with hands-on credibility to shape direction, challenge assumptions, support engineers and leave behind stronger internal capability. Principal-level cloud and platform leader with 20+ years in infrastructure, DevOps and engineering leadership, including contract and consultancy engagements across UK government, financial services, payments, ecommerce, SaaS, housing and high-scale digital media. Recent work includes leading and maturing a Cloud Engineering capability from 7 to 20+ engineers, supporting secure AWS, Terraform, Kubernetes and Helm platforms for government clients, shaping operating models, solution designs and delivery standards, and providing cloud, security and networking SME input. Earlier engagements include supporting the HM Passport Office digital passport service from early development into live maturity, reducing AWS infrastructure costs by around 60% for The Book Depository, delivering high-transaction AWS migrations and global VPN capability across multiple AWS accounts, and building resilient greenfield infrastructure for startups and public-facing organisations. Strong fit for interim Head of Platform, Head of Cloud, Principal Cloud Consultant and platform capability-building assignments.
